Dynamic Restraints

Many dynamic factors contribute to GH stability. The RTC muscles as well as the scapular rotators contribute to stabilization by enhancing the concavity–compression mechanism. In addition, contraction of the long head of the biceps tendon, coordinated scapulothoracic rhythm, and proprioceptive mechanoreceptors in the joint capsule contribute to the dynamic stabilization of the GH joint.
